“As a family-owned company who has faced many adversities over the past two centuries, we know that strength and resilience come from supporting each other. We are happy to give back to the sommelier community with participating in an online silent auction to raise funds for @UnitedSomms Foundation, which supports the sommelier community impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The auction is held by @ackerwines (https://www.ackerwines.com/SignUp) and opens on Monday, May 25th, with among others two lots from Champagne Henriot and Bouchard Père & Fils.”

“My deepest gratitude to the teams of Maisons & Domaines Henriot, Maisons & Domaines Henriot America, Champagne Henriot, Maison Bouchard Père & Fils, William Fèvre and Beaux Frères for their engagement in these difficult times.
Reconciling professional and family life is not easy today. Changing work habits to ensure the safety of the team creates new constraints and calls for creativity and solidarity. There isn’t any more “office jobs” or “field jobs”. There is only a community of passionate people working together to continue a precious heritage and a centuries-old history. Thank you all ! .”

“In 210 years, our family Champagne House has overcome numerous crises (1815, Prussian war in 1870, Phylloxera, 1914-18,…). My grand father Etienne Henriot (1889 – 1957) succeeded in keeping Champagne Henriot safe through the Phylloxera disaster, the great depression of the 30’s and the 2nd World War. Passion and sense of transmission have been our vital principle for 210 years.”
Gilles de Larouzière, Président of Maisons & Domaines Henriot

Gilles de Larouzière comes from a profession that is far removed from Mondovino. And he is the representative of a family that is completely devoted to vines and wine. Joseph Henriot’s nephew, he was chosen by the family to succeed him. A new page of the story of Maisons & Domaines Henriot is being written as we watch.
La revue du vin de France - June 2019
Still too much old oak masking the expressions of the wines of the vintage. Hard to define, they will need ageing to find their feet. The appellation produced a third of very good wines in a vintage unlike no others. G.B.
